Tenth International Summer School for Young Diplomats Opens on the Shores of Issyk-Kul.

Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan, 27 July 2026 – The Tenth International Summer School for Young Diplomats opened on the shores of Issyk-Kul on 27 July 2026. The Summer School is organized by the Kazy Dikambaev Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek. The programme is moderated by Ambassador Irina Orolbaeva, Professor at the Diplomatic Academy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The anniversary edition of the Summer School has brought together young diplomats and representatives of the foreign ministries of Belarus, France, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Opening remarks were delivered by Melis Mamadaliev, Director of the Department of International Organizations and Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ruslan Rakhimov, Rector of the Kazy Dikambaev Diplomatic Academy; and Dmitry Prudtskikh, Regional Project Adviser at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
In their remarks, the speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening multilateral co-operation, advancing diplomatic education, and fostering dialogue and the exchange of experience among young diplomats in the face of today's global challenges.
The theme of this year's Summer School is "Strengthening Multilateral Institutions in an Era of Global Challenges." Throughout the week, participants will explore key issues in contemporary diplomacy, international security, the evolving global order, climate change, the application of artificial intelligence, strategic communication, and international co-operation.
The programme features lectures, expert discussions, and analytical workshops led by diplomats, representatives of international organizations, leading experts, and academics. Particular emphasis is placed on the exchange of practical experience, the development of professional skills, and the joint exploration of approaches to addressing today's international challenges.
The Tenth International Summer School for Young Diplomats provides a platform for strengthening professional networks, fostering mutual trust and understanding among the next generation of diplomats, and promoting multilateral dialogue and international co-operation.
