During the event the participants, including representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Interior, the Governmental Press Service, Parliament, the Presidential Administration and civil society, will discuss local media trends especially concerning ethics and the core principles of journalism.

Implemented by the non-governmental organizational Media Consult, and supported by the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, the event aims to raise awareness in the media of problems connected with the observation of ethical principles in Kyrgyzstan, and offers conceptual and practical guidelines.

The report covers developments over a six month period based on text extracted from news publications with model examples and deviations, and in the concludes with recommendations. The first monitoring report is available at //www.osce.org/ru/bishkek/92695. Three quarterly reports are planned within this project.
