The first water museum in Central Asia will be opened in the premises of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K. I. Skryabin in Bishkek on 22 April 2015.

Since 2012, the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and UNDP’s Small Grants Programme in Kyrgyzstan have been supporting the establishment of the museum of water in Bishkek as part of a project initiated by the Public Association “AKMEN”. It took four years to reconstruct and decorate the basement of the University premises. Most museum exhibits are of interactive nature so that visitors can better understand the water cycle.
