About

This training is designed for representatives of local communities who will further train mediators in their neighbourhoods. 21 trainers from nine communities in Chuy province will benefit from this training session. 

The participants will learn about conflict and conflict analysis,and the theory and practice of mediation, including the stages and ethics of mediation, and their role as mediators.

Practical group exercises, such as one on mapping conflicts in Kyrgyzstan, have been organized in advance of the main session. Trainees learned to define the notions of conflict and violence, and the difference between latent, open and surface conflicts, to mark out the stages of conflict, and to choose and use different types of conflict resolution methods and tools.
